Day 1 Beijing Arrival
You will arrive in Beijing and your guide will take you to the hotel for a good rest

Welcome to Beijing! Our guide will wait for you at the airport with your name tag in hand. Then we will drive you to the hotel so that you will have a good rest. This will be the first day of your tour in China!

Before our trip, let's have a brief introduction to Beijing. Beijing, as the capital of China, is located in the northeast of China. China's territory is shaped like a rooster in the east of the world, and Beijing is at its heart. This ancient city has a history of more than three thousand years and was the capital of five dynasties in history. Thus, you can enjoy many world-class historical sites, such as the Forbidden City, the largest imperial palace in the world, and the Great Wall, the most magnificent defense project in the world. As the capital of China, Beijing still has great international influence.

Beijing connects the past and the present, and is full of cultural inheritance and innovation. With hutongs, teahouses, bar streets, and business districts, Beijing is full of traditional and modern elements that make the city vibrant. In 2008, the 29th Olympic Games were held in Beijing, which added vitality to the city. We hope you will like this famous historical and cultural city.

Day 2 Beijing
Tian’anmen Square, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace

After enjoying breakfast, you will visit Tian’anmen Square which is in the center of Beijing. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1912), Tian’anmen Square was an important place for holding important ceremonies and issuing political decrees to the whole country, and also represented the majesty of feudal imperial power. On October 1, 1949, the People's Republic of China was founded and the founding ceremony was held in the square. Later, the construction of the Monument to the People's Heroes and the Chairman Mao Zedong Memorial Hall deepened the political significance of the square. It not only witnessed the occurrence of many important political and historical events but also witnessed how the Chinese nation grew from weak to strong step by step. You can learn about the history and changes of Modern China here.

After lunch, the next spot you will visit is the Temple of Heaven. The emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties offered sacrifices to heaven and begged for a good harvest here. Therefore, the Temple of Heaven used to be a place where only emperors could come. The Temple of Heaven, with an area of about 2.7 million square meters, is far larger than the Forbidden City which is about 0.72 million square meters. This is because the emperor of China called himself “the son of heaven,” and they did not dare to make their dwelling larger than the dwelling of heaven. And the funniest building in the Temple of Heaven is Echo Wall, which is 193 meters long. If you whisper at the east of the wall, your friend will hear clearly at the west of the wall. That is because it utilized the theory of sound waves.

The next place we will visit is the Summer Palace which is about 20 kilometers away. It will take us about one hour to drive there. It used to be an imperial garden of the Qing Dynasty and offered the royal families rest and entertainment. Three quarters of the Summer Palace is covered by Kunming Lake. Perfectly combined traditional Chinese architecture and surrounding natural landscapes, it is honored as “a museum of royal gardens”. You can go boating here and enjoy the beautiful natural scenery and classical Chinese architecture along the banks.

Day 3 Beijing
Hutongs, Juyongguan Great Wall

Today after you finish breakfast, our tour guide will lead you to a new attraction - Hutongs, which has a long history and can derive from the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). Hutongs in Beijing are the context of the city and the thoroughfare of traffic. Besides, they provide places for people to live. Nowadays, there are mainly ten famous Hutongs: South Luogu Lane, Smoking Pipe Byway, Mao'er Hutong, Guozijian Street, Liulichang, Goldfish Hutong, Dongjiaominxiang, Xijiaominxiang, Ju’er Hutong, and Bada Hutong. The longest street there is Dongjiaominxiang, whose original name is Dongjiangmixiang because it played a role in transportation in the Yuan Dynasty. You can visit those Hutongs by rickshaws. I promise it will be a great experience. You can also have family visits and feel local people’s enthusiasm, learning the changes of time and the history of Beijing.

After lunch, you will visit the Juyongguan Great Wall, estimated 51 KM away to the northwest of Hutongs and 60 KM away from the center of Beijing. Starting from Hutongs, it will take you 45 minutes or so to arrive there by driving. The Juyongguan Great Wall is a part of the Great Wall and was built in the Ming Dynasty to improve the capability of military defense. The center of it is the Cloud Platform, with 9.5 meters high and 12.9 meters long. There is a doorway in the center of the platform, where travelers and horses can pass. On its wall, there are also many animal reliefs so the Cloud Platform can be called a great stone carving art. Therefore, it is a good place for you to take photos and learn the stone carving culture.

Option:

Traveling in Beijing, you must know its tasty food, such as Soybean Cake, Pea Cake, Fermented Mung Bean Juice, and so on. One of the most delicious foods you cannot miss is Noodle with Soy Bean Paste. The kind of sauce is made from soy sauce and pork belly. Fry the diced pork belly until its color changes, then pour the soy sauce and add a little sugar. Stir them for about 20 minutes then the sauce is ready. There are also side dishes, such as sliced cucumber, bean sprout, radish strip, and so on. You can add them according to your taste. Pour the sauce and side dishes on your noodles, it will be very delicious. So, you must give it a try!

Before beginning your trip, let us give you a brief introduction to Chengdu. Chengdu, as a provincial capital of Sichuan province, is located in the southwest of China and 2,048 KM away from Beijing. Referring to Chengdu, the first thing people will think of is the panda. Right, Chengdu is the world’s largest research base of giant panda breeding. In Chengdu, you can have the great chance to see giant pandas at close quarters. Besides, Chengdu is also a city with a long history. It was once the capital of Shu (221-263). In the beginning, it was only a county center, but soon it became a metropolis. Because of its fast development, people gave it the name: Chengdu, which means “becoming a capital”. In Han Dynasty (202 B.C- 220 B.C), brocade weaving and trade were prosperous in this area, so Chengdu became the starting point of the south Silk Road.

Apart from its rich history, Chengdu also has many famous delicious foods. People there like spicy food for the sake of the rainy climate, and Hot Pot is one of them. Many Chinese people like eating hot pot. It is really tasty and worth tasting. Therefore, in Chengdu, you can reward your mouth with delicacy when you see giant pandas and learn Chinese cultures. We hope you will have a good trip in this city.

After you finish your breakfast, our guide will lead you to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding to see giant pandas. Panda is a national treasure of China. Because of the small number, the panda is listed as endangered species. To preserve them and improve the number of them, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding was established in 1987. When you go there, you will have a chance to see how lovely pandas play, sleep, climb trees, or eat bamboo shoots. I promise you will love them for their cute appearance and adorable behaviors. The kitchen will also show you the raw material and manufacturing operation of wowotou (a kind of steamed cornbread), and you can taste it if you want.

After lunch, you will walk on Jinli Street to visit Chengdu Wuhou Shrine Museum. It is estimated 20 KM to the southwest of Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding and an estimated 35 minutes’ drive. The name of Jinli means “make perfection still more perfect and hide the universe in the universe.” Jinli Street is an ancient street. It was one of the oldest and the most commercialized streets in Shu. To memorize Zhuge Liang, a hero of Shu, people built the Wuhou Shrine Museum here. Prime Minister Zhuge Liang is a person with great wisdom and resourcefulness. He helped the King of Shu win many wars. When you visit the Museum, you can see his statue. There are also many inscriptions and cultural relics about him to tell you his whole life.

The next place you will go is Chengdu People’s Park, a 10-minute walk from Chengdu Wuhou Shrine Museum. It was built in 1911 and there are many monuments to heroes in the Republic of China era (1912-1949), most of them died from the campaign of road protection in Sichuan. The aim of the campaign was to protect people’s road rights against the government. You will learn the history of that time when you visit the park. In addition, you can see many ornamental plants in Bonsai Park, such as elm, ginkgo, and lotus, all of which create a peaceful and quiet environment. It is a good place to make you relaxed.
