Overview of the Golden Pebble Beach

Golden Pebble Beach, also known as the Jinshitan National Holiday Resort, is located in the northeast of Dalian, Liaoning Province. It was acknowledged as the “natural geology museum” and “sculpture garden molded by God” for its multitudinous and stunning rocks scattered along the coastal line.
 

It covers a land area of 62 square kilometers and a sea area of 58 square kilometers and enjoys a coastal line of 30 kilometers. The Golden Pebble Beach is the ideal coastal place in northern China because of its advantageous climate, multiple cultural activities, and ravishing sceneries.

 

Big Events Happened in the Golden Pebble Beach

In 2010, the Golden Pebble Beach was designated as one of the national 5A scenic spots.
 

In 2012, the scenic spot—“Dinosaur Swallowing the Sea” was appraised as one of the top 40 beautiful places in China by CNN, which created a sensation around the world and attracted a range of foreign visitors.

Dalian Coastal National Geopark

Located at the southeast of the Golden Pebble Beach, the Dalian Coastal National Geopark is composed of multiple scenic spots such as Rose Park Scenic Spot, Nanxiu Park Scenic Spot, and the Turtle Beach Scenic Spot. You can enjoy a visual feast because of the engaging scenery of the sea and spectacular rocks formed by coastal erosion.

Interesting Story of the Golden Pebble Beach

According to old Chinese mythology, one day, Nüwa, the mother goddess, patched the sky with colored stones to protect her people. Accidently, one colored stone fell on this peninsula, transforming this distant and laid-back peninsula into a magnificent place. Nüwa was so happy to see this situation that she molded a man and a woman and taught them to live. (According to Chinese mythology, the human was created by Nüwa through molding the people-shaped yellow earth.)
 

Over thousands of years, they multiplied and prospered at this place. What’s more, the stones were found with divine strength and could communicate with people. Thus, it is believed that the stones were more precious than gold. That is why it was named the Golden Pebble Beach.

Take bus Changhe 803 and get off at the Jinshitan Qinggui Station and then you can get to the Golden Pebble Beach directly.
