Located in the northeast part of Guangzhou City, the Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area, a national 5A scenic area, covers an area of 21 square kilometers. As a well-known mountain in Guangdong Province, Baiyun Mountain is considered to be “the most beautiful mountain in Guangzhou”.
 

Baiyun Mountain has a number of places of interest worthy of visiting, such as Luhu Park, Yuntai Garden, Mingchungu Natural Birdcage, Moxingling Summit, Mingzhulou Scenic, Yunxi Ecological Park, Sculpture Park, and so on. Since ancient times, Baiyun Mountain has been the ideal destination for sightseeing for people in Guangzhou and many celebrities. In as early as the Song Dynasty, several scenes of Baiyun Mountain have been placed on the list of “Eight Famous Scenic Attractions in Guangzhou”.

Luhu Park

Luhu Park was built in 1958 and is located at the southern foot of Baiyun Mountain. There are lakes, curved bridges, pavilions, and ancient temples at the foot of the mountain. The park, the largest open and multifunctional park in Guangzhou, covers a water area of 25 hectares.
 

Moxingling Summit

Moxingling Summit, also known as Biyun Peak before, is the highest peak of Baiyun Mountain, with an altitude of 382 meters above sea level. People can enjoy the beautiful view of Guanzhou City and the Pearl River at Moxingling Summit.

Yuntai Garden is the largest garden of the Western Style in China, well-known for the precious flowers and trees in all seasons. It covers an area of 25 hectares. It was opened to the public on September 28, 1995. It is known to be the pearl of Guangzhou City. There are more than 20 novel and elegant attractions in the garden.

 

Story of Baiyun Mountain

As for the origin of the name of Baiyun Mountain, there is a legend. Once a time five immortals came to this place, and they saw a mountain ridge shaped like a white cloud, so they called the mountain "Baiyun Mountain" (Baiyun literally means white cloud in Chinese). The poets and writers of Guangdong in the past had a deep love of Baiyun Mountain, and they left many cliff carvings on the mountain.

Baiyun Mountain is a place worth visiting all year-round, as it has a profound cultural deposit and abundant natural resources. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best time to visit, followed by summer and winter. Baiyun Mountain is full of flowers in spring, and in autumn, it is suitable for viewing fallen leaves.
 

Please pay attention that there are typhoons and rainfall in Guangzhou in summer. Please pay attention to safety when going to Baiyun Mountain in the summer.

Luhu Park→ Yuntai Garden→ South Gate of Baiyun Mountain → Mingchungu Natural Birdcage→ Moxingling Summit→ Mingzhulou Scenic→ Exit from the West Gate.

 

How to Get to Baiyun Mountain

By Bus

If you want to get to the south gate of Baiyun Mountain, you can take bus 24, 63, 240, 285 and get off at Yuntai Garden Station.

If you want to get to the west gate of Baiyun Mountain, you can take bus 46, 60, 127, 175, 179, 199, 223, 241, 257, 540, B18 and get off at Baiyun Cableway Station.

 

By Subway

Take Line 2 and get off at Baiyun Park Station and exit B.

Take Line 3 and get off at Meihuayuan Station and exit B.


By Taxi

Chinese: 请带我去白云山。English: Please take me to Baiyun Mountain.

Chinese: 请带我去白云山北门。English: Please take me to the North Gate of Baiyun Mountain.

Chinese: 请带我去白云山西门。English: Please take me to the West Gate of Baiyun Mountain.

Chinese: 请带我去白云山西北门。English: Please take me to the Northwest Gate of Baiyun Mountain.


If you take a taxi to Baiyun Mountain from the center of Guangzhou (DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Guangzhou), it takes about 45 minutes (35 yuan).


If you take a taxi to Baiyun Mountain from Guangzhou Railway Station, it takes about 45 minutes (30 yuan).


If you take a taxi to Baiyun Mountain from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, it takes about an hour (90 yuan).
