Shijiazhuang is situated in the western part of Hebei Province. Encompassing
15,653 square kilometres, Shijiazhuang has a population of 8.75 million. It is
the point of intersection for Jingguang (Beijing-Guangchou), Slide (Shijiazhuang
pezhou) and Shitai (Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan ) railways. There are such industries in the
city as textiles, machinery, iron and steel, chemicals, coal, pharmacy, and
electrical power.
