13 Nights 14 Days: Beijing/Xi’an/Guilin/Sanya/Hong Kong

Today you will first go to see the famous Tian’anmen Square. It is located in the center of Beijing. It starts from Tian’anmen in the North, Zhengyangmen in the South, the National Museum of China in the East, and the Great Hall of the people in the West. It is 880 meters long from North to South, 500 meters wide from East to West, covering an area of 440,000 square meters. It can hold a grand gathering of 1 million people and is the largest city square in the world. From there you will enter the “Imperial Palace" known as the Forbidden City (closed on each Monday) where 24 emperors ruled China for about 600 years. It is located in the center of the central axis of Beijing, with the total coverage of 720,000 square meters. There are more than 70 palaces, more than 9,000 houses inside. The Forbidden City of Beijing is one of the largest and best preserved ancient wooden structures throughout the world. It was listed as a world cultural heritage in 1987. After lunch, you will go to the the Summer Palace where emperors spend their summer time. It was formerly known as Qingyi Garden and is located in the western suburb of Beijing, covering an area of 2.9 square kilometers, adjacent to Yuanmingyuan Park. It is a large-scale landscape garden built on the basis of Kunming Lake and Wanshou Mountain, and drawing from the design techniques of gardens in Southern China. It is also the most beautiful and complete imperial garden in existence in China known as the "Royal Garden Museum”.
This morning, we will drive for about 1 hour to visit the Ming Tombs. The 7.3 kilometers long Sacred Way is the main way leading to the thirteen imperial tombs. The Chang Tomb is the largest, earliest, and most magnificent with best preserved ground constructions among the 13 tombs. It is the joint burial grave of Yongle Emperor Zhu Di and Empress Xu. The Chang Tomb has the largest construction scale among the Ming Tombs. The square part in front of it consists of three courtyards that are connected to each other. Chang Tomb is built with strict materials, the construction was elaborate, the project was extensive, and it took a long time to build, the underground palace alone took four years. After lunch, we will drive to the Great Wall, which is known as the longest defensive project in the world. The part we will go to is called Mutianyu Great Wall, it is located in Huairou District, 73 kilometers away from the urban area of Beijing. It has a long history and splendid culture, and enjoys the reputation of "the most unique part among the different sections of Great Wall". The mountains are stacked in the scenic area, and the vegetation coverage rate is over 90%. The Mutianyu Great Wall is 5400 meters long, making it the longest Great Wall in China. The wall is seven or eight meters high and the top of the wall is four or five meters wide. There are buttresses on both sides of the wall, which can resist enemies on both sides, and horse pits are excavated on the outside to improve the defense function. You will go up to the Great Wall by cable chair, climb up and enjoy the view, then come down by toboggan. (For guests with the age above 60, he or she will take the round trip cable chair. Round trip cable car option is also available.) On the way back to the hotel, you will have a photo stop at the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube, also known as the National Stadium and National Aquatics Center. You will see them from afar, it’s better to watch them from a distance scenic-wise.
This morning after checking out from your hotel, you will visit the Temple of Heaven, where the ancient emperors worshipped the god of heaven and prayed for good harvest. Its rigorous architectural layout, peculiar building structure, and magnificent architectural decoration are considered to be the most exquisite and beautiful group of ancient buildings in China. The Temple of Heaven is not only the pearl in ancient Chinese architecture, but also a treasure in the world’s architectural history. It is a very popular park now for people to do Tai Chi. Then you will be transferred to the train station and take the estimated train: G87 14:00/18:20 to Xi’an. Our local guide will then transfer you to the hotel.
This morning after breakfast, we will drive for about 1 hour to visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum - the No.8 Wonder in the world. The Terracotta Warriors and the Horses stand silently to guard the tomb of China’s first emperor---Qin Shihuang for over 2000 years. Human slavery was practiced in ancient times. After the death of the slave owner, the slave was to be buried as a funerary object. Terracotta Warriors are funerary objects made in the shape of chariots, warhorses, soldiers. In 1987, the Terracotta Warriors were approved by UNESCO for inclusion in the "World Heritage List". In the afternoon, you will visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, where Master Xuanzang kept his classics brought from India. In the third year of Yonghui reign of Tang Dynasty, Xuanzang built the Big Wild Goose Pagoda for the preservation of the Buddhist scriptures brought back to Chang'an from Tianzhu via the silk road. The first five stories of the pagoda were added to nine stories, and then the number and height of the stories were changed several times. Finally, the seven-story pagoda was fixed as the one we see today, with a total height of 64.517 meters and a side length of 25.5 meters at the bottom.
After breakfast, we will see the 600 years old City Wall which is the most complete City Wall in China. The City Wall is located in the center of Xi'an, for a total of 13,912 kilometers, with an average height of 12 meters and a width between 15 and 18 meters. Then we will transfer you to the airport and take the estimated flight: MU2331 13:20/15:35 to Guilin. Upon your flight arrival at Guilin airport, our tour guide will be holding your name sign and transfer you to hotel.
This morning, we will pick you up from your hotel. And then drive about one hour to get to the pier for a 4 hours' cruising on Li River - the highlight of sightseeing tour in Guilin with lunch aboard. You will admire the stunning mountains, lush fields, farms, villages, and you can see cows and water buffalos wandering around on both sides of the river bank. Lijiang scenic area is the world's largest and most beautiful karst mountain and water scenic area. For thousands of years, many literati and writers have been intoxicated. Lijiang scenic area is centered on Guilin city, starting from Xing'an Lingqu in the North and Yangshuo in the South, connected by the Li River. Guilin's landscape is well-known both at home and abroad for its “green mountain, clear water, and peculiar caves”. Land in Yangshuo, a small town famous for its natural beauty. Wander about at Yangshuo West Street, where cobblestone streets meander through the market, which is crowded with food stalls and shops selling various Chinese handicrafts. Afterwards, we will drive back to Guilin and get back to your hotel.
In the morning, you will visit Reed Flute Cave. The name of the cave comes from the reeds growing outside, and the local people use the reeds to make flutes. Under the illumination of the colored lights, breath-taking scenes can be seen in various kinds of forms in this cave. There are a large number of beautiful and exquisite stalagmites, stone pillars, stone mantles, and stone flowers in the cave, and form the landscape of Crouching Tiger Pagoda, Primitive Forest, Crystal Palace, Huaguo Mountain, etc., it’s like wonderland, and got its name as "the Art Palace of Nature". Since the Tang Dynasty, there have been traces of tourists throughout the history, and there are 77 murals from different dynasties kept in the cave. And then we will visit Elephant Trunk Hill. It is the emblematic hill of Guilin and a landmark of Guilin tourism. It is located at the confluence of Li River and Taohua River in the center of Guilin. After lunch, we will transfer you to the Guilin airport to take the estimated flight: HU7879 15:40/19:55 to Sanya. Sanya is an international tourist city with tropical beach scenery and is also known as "Oriental Hawaii". Sanya is located at the southernmost tip of Hainan Island. It is the southernmost tropical coastal tourist city, the city with the best air quality, and the people with the longest life span in China (average life expectancy is 80 years). It is adjacent to Lingshui County in the East, Ledong County in the West, Baoting County in the North, and the South China Sea in the South. The total land area is 1,919.58 square kilometers, and the total area of the sea area is 6,000 square kilometers. It has a permanent population of 536,000, and it has more than 20 ethnic groups including Han, Li, Miao and Hui. The beautiful city of Sanya is one of China's gateways to the world. Sanya is the central city and transportation and communication hub in the southern Hainan Province. This morning, you will visit the Victoria Peak. You will take the Peak Tram which is operated for over 125 years. There's nothing in the world like riding the 373 meters long Peak Tram to visit the Victoria Peak. Many skyscrapers you passed by look like they are leaning at a 45-degree angle. Victoria Peak is a beautiful residential area and a must-visit place for people to visit Hong Kong. There is an observation deck at the top of the mountain, which overlooks Hong Kong and Victoria Harbor. Victoria Peak is also the best place to watch Hong Kong's wonderful night view. When night falls, standing on Victoria Peak and looking around, under the light of thousands of lights, Hong Kong Island and Kowloon are like two pearls inlaid in Victoria Harbor. The Central area is even more spectacular with its skyscrapers. And then, we will see the Aberdeen Fishing Village which is a Typhoon Shelter. The quaint and charming Aberdeen Fishing Village is not far from the hustle and bustle of the heart of Hong Kong, but seems like light-years away from it all. You can see rows of old-fashioned sailboats and sampans, and some fishermen and their families still live in the houseboats there to continue their daily lives. This is an ancient style fishing village that is difficult to find elsewhere in the world. You can take a closer look at how Hong Kong fishing folks are living their daily lives by riding on a Sampan. After that, you will have lunch at Jumbo Kingdom. At here, visitors can not only taste the fresh and delicious seafood, but also enjoy the drooping night, and the lights on the boat illuminated the sea. It is a famous attraction in Hong Kong. Although the food may not be more delicious than other foods, but because it is located in the sea and its decoration is full of traditional Chinese characteristics, it is particularly attractive to foreign tourists.
