Airport pick-up and transfer to hotel.

Our guide will be holding your name sign and waiting for you at the airport, and then you will be transferred to your hotel and have a nice rest.

Day 2 Beijing
Cooking class, Mutianyu Great Wall, Bird's Nest and Water Cube, dinner at Haidilao Hot Pot Restaurant. (B+L+D)

This morning, you will take a Cooking Class(Market tour first, then to cooking venue, takes about 4~5 hours in total including lunch time, with free flow of soft drinks and beer during cooking class.) and have what you cooked for lunch. And in the afternoon, we will visit the Great Wall, which is known as the longest defensive project in the world. The part we will go to is called Mutianyu Great Wall, it is located in Huairou District, 73 kilometers away from the urban area of Beijing. It has a long history and splendid culture, and enjoys the reputation of "the most unique part among the different sections of Great Wall". The mountains are stacked in the scenic area, and the vegetation coverage rate is over 90%. The Mutianyu Great Wall is 5,400 meters long, making it the longest Great Wall in China. The wall is seven or eight meters high and the top of the wall is four or five meters wide. There are buttresses on both sides of the wall, which can resist enemies on both sides, and horse pits are excavated on the outside to improve the defense function. You will go up to the Great Wall by cable chair, climb up and enjoy the view, then come down by toboggan. (For guests with the age above 60, he or she will take the round-trip cable chair. Round trip cable car option is also available.) On the way back to the hotel, you will have a photo stop at the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube, also known as the National Stadium and National Aquatics Center. You will see them from afar, it’s better to watch them from a distance scenic-wise. Dinner today will be at Haidilao Hot Pot Restaurant.

Day 3 Beijing
Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City, lunch at Meizhoudongpo Restaurant, Summer Palace, dinner at Chengjiabang Restaurant, Wangfujing Street. (B+L+D)

Today you will first go to see the famous Tian’anmen Square. It is located in the center of Beijing. It starts from Tian’anmen in the north, Zhengyangmen in the south, the National Museum of China in the east, and the Great Hall of the people in the west. It is 880 meters long from north to south, 500 meters wide from east to west, covering an area of 440,000 square meters. It can hold a grand gathering of 1 million people and is the largest city square in the world. From there you will enter the “Imperial Palace" known as the Forbidden City (closed on each Monday) where 24 emperors ruled China for about 600 years. It is located in the center of the central axis of Beijing, with the total coverage of 720,000 square meters. There are more than 70 palaces, more than 9,000 houses inside. The Forbidden City of Beijing is one of the largest and best preserved ancient wooden structures throughout the world. It was listed as a world cultural heritage in 1987. Lunch will be at Meizhoudongpo Restaurant (Fusion food of North and South of China). After lunch, you will go to the Summer Palacewhere emperors spend their summer time. It was formerly known as Qingyi Garden and is located in the western suburb of Beijing, covering an area of 2.9 square kilometers, adjacent to Yuanmingyuan Park. It is a large-scale landscape garden built on the basis of Kunming Lake and Wanshou Mountain, and drawing from the design techniques of gardens in Southern China. It is also the most beautiful and complete imperial garden in existence in China known as the "Royal Garden Museum". Tonight, we will have Peking Roast Duck dinner at Chengjiabang Restaurant (Beijing food with Peking duck). And after dinner, we will take you to the most prosperous street in Beijing, and you can enjoy snacks and street food by yourself at Wangfujing Street. There are hundreds of well-known domestic and overseas brands gathered in the shops with unique decoration. With a wide range of commodities and lifelike sculptures, the 700 years old street has been rejuvenated, and an average of 500,000 people are attracted here every day to see her charm.

Day 4 BeijingXi'an
Temple of Heaven, Hutong, lunch with local family, then take a train to Xi'an. (B+L)

This morning after checking out from your hotel, you will visit the Temple of Heaven, where the ancient emperors worshipped the god of heaven and prayed for good harvest. Its rigorous architectural layout, peculiar building structure, and magnificent architectural decoration are considered to be the most exquisite and beautiful group of ancient buildings in China. The Temple of Heaven is not only the pearl in ancient Chinese architecture, but also a treasure in the world’s architectural history. It is a very popular park now for people to do Tai Chi. Then we will take you to the Hutongs, and visit a local family there. You will have a chance to have lunch with the local family and taste the local family food. The hutongs in Beijing may seem like that they are all just grey walls and tiles. But in fact, if you are willing to string up several alleys, and talk with the residents for a while, you will find that each alley has its own story. Because the hutongs are not only the vein of the city, but also the place where ordinary people live and it’s the important stage for the development and evolution of Beijing history and culture. It records the changes of the city, like a museum of folk customs. Then you will be transferred to the train station and take the estimated train: G349 15:13/19:45 to Xi’an. Our local guide will then transfer you to the hotel.

Day 5 Xi'an
Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum, lunch at Daqinxiaoyan Restaurant, Muslim Quarter, cooking class, have dumpling feast for dinner, Tang Dynasty Dance Show. (B+L+D)

This morning after breakfast, we will drive for about 1 hour to visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum - the No.8 Wonder in the World. The Terracotta Warriors and the Horses stand silently to guard the tomb of China’s first emperor---Qin Shihuang for over 2000 years. Human slavery was practiced in ancient times. After the death of the slave owner, the slave was to be buried as a funerary object. Terracotta Warriors are funerary objects made in the shape of chariots, warhorses, soldiers. In 1987, the Terracotta Warriors were approved by UNESCO for inclusion in the "World Heritage List". Lunch today is at Daqinxiaoyan Restaurant (Xi’an local food served in Western style). And then to the Muslim Quarter, to stroll around the famous snack street and taste some snacks and street food in Xi’an by yourself if you like. Afterwards, we will take you to the Tang Dynasty Xi’an for a short Cooking Class (We will have a short cooking class for about 30~40 minutes of making dumplings, with free flow of soft drink and beer during cooking class and dumpling feast) then enjoy the Dumpling Feast with Tang Dynasty Dance Show follows.

Day 6 Xi'anChengdu
Take a train to Chengdu, transfer to hotel in Chengdu, dinner at Chenmapotofu Restaurant. (B+D)

In the morning, departure by train to Chengdu. Estimated train: D1917 09:00/12:17. Our local guide will transfer you to the hotel. At about 6 pm, we will take you to a local restaurant to have dinner, dinner today will be at Chenmapotofu Restaurant(Sichuan local spicy food), then back to hotel and have a nice rest.

Day 7 Chengdu
Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Sichuan Cuisine Museum and have a cooking class, Kuan Zhai Alley, dinner at Xiaolongfandajiang Restaurant. (B+L+D)

Today, we will first visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, 85% of the world's wild panda lives in Sichuan. Chengdu has invested a lot of resources to study about pandas and help them to survive in the wild. The base is a world-famous giant panda relocation protection base, education tourism base, public education base, and scientific research and breeding base. It is located at Chenghua District, and about 10 kms away from downtown of Chengdu. Next, we will visit the famous Sichuan Cuisine Museum, and have a cooking class there (market tour first, then to Sichuan Cuisine Museum for a guided tour, afterwards will be cooking class, takes about 4 hours in total including lunch time, with free flow of soft drink only). Lunch will be what you cooked. In the afternoon we will take you to stroll around the Kuan Zhai Alley and you can try local snacks and street food there by yourself. Dinner will be at Xiaolongfandajiang Restaurant (Sichuan hot pot).

Day 8 ChengduShanghai
Take a flight to Shanghai, visit the Bund, Nanjing Road, dinner at Jardin de Jade. (B+D)

After breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport and fly to Shanghai. Estimated flight: MU5408 12:35-15:11. Upon your flight arrival at Shanghai airport, our tour guide will be holding your name sign and waiting for you at the airport, and transfer you to the Bund, it is a famous waterfront and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years. The total length of the bund is 1.5 km, starting from Yan 'an East Road in the south to Waibaidu bridge on the Suzhou River in the north, Huangpu river in the east and the old Shanghai financial and foreign trade institutions in the west. It is one of the important historical relics and representative building groups in modern China and one of the landmarks of Shanghai. Next, your guide will take you to the Nanjing Road, famously named one of the World's Seven Great Roads in the 1930s. The road stretches from The Bund east towards Hongqiao, with Shanghai's center point “People's Square” in the middle. You can have some free shopping time there. Dinner will be at Jardin de Jade Restaurant (Shanghai local food).

Day 9 Shanghai
Take a cooking class and lunch there, visit Yu Garden, Shanghai Tower, Huangpu River Cruise, farewell dinner at Lost Heaven Restaurant. (B+L+D)

Today, we will first take you to have a Cooking Class (market tour first, then to cooking venue, takes about 3~4 hours in total including lunch time, with free flow of soft drinks and beer) and have what you cooked for lunch. Afterwards we will go to Yu Garden (closed on each Monday). It is a classical garden that a government officer specially built for his parents as a place to enjoy their tranquil and happy retired time. It was built in 1559, fully reflecting the architectural and design style of Chinese classical gardens. Yu Garden was opened to public in 1961, and was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council in 1982. Nowadays, it has become a popular tourist attraction for domestic and foreign tourists to Shanghai. Then we will see the Shanghai Tower. It has the highest indoor observation deck in the world. From here, you can have a panoramic view of the other skyscrapers like Jinmao Tower, the Shanghai World Financial Center, and also Huangpu River and the Bund area. Afterwards, you will board the public Huangpu River Cruise for about 1 hour’s cruise along Huangpu River and enjoy the stunning night view of the most prosperous area in Shanghai. Huangpu River Cruise is just one of the best ways to have a look of both traditional and modern Shanghai. Dinner tonight will be at a unique and high-end Yunnan Cuisine Restaurant called Lost Heaven Restaurant (Yunnan food). Enjoy your last evening in China!
