Day 1 Beijing Arrival
You will arrive in Beijing.

Our guide will wait for you at the airport and then you will be transferred to your hotel and have a good rest.

Day 2 Beijing
You will visit Tian’anmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace.

This morning you will first visit Tian’anmen Square. It is located in the center of Beijing city and it is the largest city square in the world. National Museum of China and the Great Hall of the People are on its two sides. And then you will visit the Forbidden City. (It is closed each Monday.) It is also known as the Palace Museum. There are more than 9,000 rooms in the Forbidden City. Although it is made of brick and wood, the 600 years old Forbidden City is still very solid and glittering. After Breakfast, you will be transferred to the Summer Palace. The architecture of the Summer Palace is mainly based on the garden in southern China. Even the Suzhou Street in Summer Palace is a replica of the shopping street in Suzhou. In ancient times, when the emperor come and visit Suzhou Street, maids and eunuchs will dress up as the pedlars and sell goods on the street.Tian’anmen Square

Day 3 Beijing
You will visit the Great Wall and Hutong.

Today we will take you to visit the world-famous Great Wall. There is an old saying in China that the one who failed to visit the Great Wall is not a real hero. And the Great Wall is also selected as one of the Top 10 must-see attractions in China. Do not forget to take some photos on the Great Wall. It will be your best memory in China. And then we will drive back to the city center and you will visit Hutong. It is a typical China folk culture symbol. It is not as wide as the street outside. Sometimes it is even a little bit narrow. But decades years ago, most people live in the Siheyuan in Hutong like this. You may have a chance to visit one family in Hutong and get more local touch.Hutong

Day 4 BeijingXi’an
You will visit the Temple of Heaven and then take a train to Xi'an.

After breakfast, we will take you to visit the Temple of Heaven. It is the place where ancient Chinese emperors worship the Gods in heaven. They believe God will give a good harvest and all year good fortune to the country. But now the Temple of Heaven is mainly as a park for people to do morning exercise and visit. The worship ceremony there does no longer exist. Then you will be transferred to the train station and take estimated train G349 15:13/19:45 to Xi’an.

Day 5 Xi’an
You will visit the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Museum and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.

Xi’an is an ancient China Capital. China Silk Road also starts here. Now it is a famous tourist city in China. Today you will first visit the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Museum. In ancient China, there used to be an institution of burying the living with the dead. After it is abolished, the terracotta figurine replaced the real people as sacrificial objects. All the 8,000 terra-cotta warriors and horses you can see now are excavated from the tomb of Emperor Qinshihuang. After lunch, you will visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. It is a pagoda with more than 1,000 years of history. In Tang Dynasty, Monk Xuanzang went to India and brought back the Buddhist scriptures. Day 6 Xi’anDunhuang
You will take a flight to Dunhuang.

Today you will take estimated flight MU2215 12:10/14:45 to Dunhuang. Our guide will wait for you at the airport and then you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day will be yours. You can have a rest or walk around.

Day 7 Dunhuang
You will visit the Mogao Grottos, the Echoing-Sand Dune and the Crescent Lake.

Today you will first visit the Mogao Grottos. This is one of the four great grottos in China. There are 735 caves in Mogao Grottos. The huge frescoes and more than 2,000 colorful clay sculptures make Mogao Cave become the Buddhist art shrine. And then you will visit the Echoing-Sand Dune and the Crescent Lake. Because of the special climate and geography, sands on the Echoing-Sand Dune will make a sound like “Weng-weng” when the wind blows. There is also a story said that in ancient time, strong wind and sands buried a group of army and horse here. So the sound you hear now is the horse's whicker. The Crescent Spring got its name because of its shape. In the vast desert, this crescent-shaped spring looks very spiritual. And some stories said there is a kind of magic herb named seven-star herb. People who eat it can live forever. After that we will take you to visit the Shazhou Market. This is a famous shopping street. It is also a night market. No matter you want to eat local food or get some gifts for your friends, it is your good choice.Mogao Grottos

Day 8 Dunhuang
You will visit the Yumen Pass, the Han Great Wall and the Dunhuang Yardang National Geopark.

After breakfast, we will take you to visit the Yumen Pass. This is an important pass on the Silk Road. China porcelain will be export through this pass and the jade was import through this pass. Although the Yumen pass is no longer using for goods transportation, it is still the symbol of the China Silk Road. After that you will visit the Han Great Wall. Because it is hard to find brick or stone in the desert, but there are reeds and rose willow grow on the north of Dunhuang. Different from the Great Wall in Beijing, Han Great Wall is built of rammed earth with reed. You will see the most complete part of Han Great Wall here. After that we will take you to visit the Dunhuang Yardang National Geopark. It is also called the Ghost City. There are 4 main landscapes in the park: Yardang Landscape, Desert Landscape, Gobi Landscape and Wetland Landscape. You can see different shapes of yardang here. Day 9 DunhuangUrumqi
You will take a train to Urumqi.

Today you will take estimated train K595 8:11/18:05 to Urumqi. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. Our guide will wait for you at the train station and then you will be transferred to your hotel.

You will take a flight to Shanghai.

Today you will take estimated flight CZ6981 11:30/16:35 to Shanghai. The guide will pick you up from the airport and then you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the time will be free for you.

Day 11 Shanghai
You will visit the Yu Garden, the Jade Buddha Temple and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower.

This morning, you will visit the Yu Garden (It is closed each Monday). Yu Garden is more than 400 years old now. Yu in China means peace. This used to be a private garden built for parents. And from 1961 it opened to the public. This is a typical Southern China garden. There are also many famous restaurants in the Garden such as Green Ripples. After that we will go to visit the Jade Buddha Temple. It got its name because there is a jade buddha in the temple which is carved of a whole jade. Different from other temples, Jade Buddha Temple is located in the busy city, not the outskirts. Even this, it is a pure land of Buddhism. Countless people come to worship Buddha every year. And then we will take you to visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. It is famous for its beautiful architectural structure which is just like a Pearl on the river bund. Day 12 Shanghai
You will visit Zhujiajiao Water Town and the Nanjing Road.

Today you will visit Zhujiajiao Water Town. This is a small water town near Shanghai. You will see the old bridge, the old temple and old house here. You can also take a boat to visit. Flagstone road, old street and maybe some rain, will take you to the culture of China water town. After that, we will go back to Shanghai city. And you will have a chance to visit the most famous shopping street-Nanjing Road. This is a shopping street with more than 100 years old. No matter cheap or expensive, you will find what you want here. If you are tired, you can take a sightseeing train. It will take you from the beginning to the end of the street.Zhujiajiao Water Town
