After arriving at the Sanya Airport, you will find your guide waiting for you at the arrival hall. Your hospitable guide will greet you with a warm welcome and then drive you to your first stop in Sanya of Hainan Province (in southernmost China), the Janoda Rainforest. The Janoda Rainforest is about 50 kilometers northeast of the Sanya Airport. According to previous experience, the journey will take you around 50 minutes to get there. The instant you get off the car, you will feel the difference between this unspoiled place and cities areas, the refreshing air. With a total area of 45 square kilometers, about 6,300 times the size of a football field, the Janoda Rainforest is blessed with more than 1,400 kinds of trees and over 80 kinds of tropical fruits. In particular, you will notice that when two of the personnel meet, they will greet each other with a happy “Janoda”. And it is very understandable if you believe that “Janoda” bears a similar meaning to “hello”. The truth, however, may boggle your mind. According to Hainan locals, the real meaning of “Janoda”, after which the rainforest was named, is “one, two, three” in the Hainan dialect. And the catchword “one, two, three” represents a distinctive way of Hainan people expressing their warm welcome to visitors to Hainan. For all the language barriers, you can still read the kindness from their smiles.

After breakfast, you will head to Wuzhizhou Island by ferry. And the good news is that the expense of the round-trip ferry ticket will be included in your Haikou golf tour. After landing on the island, you will be free to visit any attraction as you please. Wuzhizhou Island is located in the northern part of Sanya City, looking like a butterfly on the map. There are a number of attractions that are worth a visit, such as Lover’s Bridge, Sunrising Rock, and Wuzhizhou Tea House. Wuzhizhou Tea House can be traced back to the reign of the Guangxu Emperor, the last but one emperor of the Qing Dynasty (1636-1912). There was a Taoist (a priest in a Traditional Chinese religion called Taoism) who traveled to every island in Hainan for a beautiful place to practice Chinese alchemy (an ancient way allegedly to made elixirs). At last, the Taoist stopped and intended to settle down on this unworldly island. Hearing about a Taoist’s visit and knowing what he was going to do, the then governor of Hainan came to the island for an investigation. Marveled by the ultimate natural beauty of the island, the governor stopped the Taoist’s plan due to his belief that this splendid island should be shared by the public. Later, a tea house was built on the island for brief stays of locals.           

Optional Dinner: Since you are in Hainan, its seafood will be the last thing that you can miss. You are recommended to have an optional local seafood dinner, which will be made of seafood fresh-captured from the ocean. Even though you may have tried many kinds of seafood, you may have never tasted seafood cooked in the Chinese way. Just as a popular saying goes, “you will never be upset by a Chinese cook”.

After breakfast, you will have a free morning, during which you can either have a good rest in the hotel or enjoy some fresh air outside. And you are suggested to have your lunch in advance because you will be escorted to the train station and take the estimated train C7444 12:15-14:09 to Haikou, the capital of Hainan Province. Upon arrival, your Haikou guide will pick you up at the train station and escort you to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will also be free to visit Haikou. Covering a total area of around 3,126 square kilometers, about 4 times the size of the New York, Haikou is home to more than 2.87 million people, with the bulk of them capable of speaking the Hainan dialect. Unlike most Chinese cities, Haikou is located in the tropics, which is characterized by an eternal summer, abundant fruits, and rich sunlight. Haikou is frequently discussed for its excellent air quality and high forest coverage. Notably, Haikou is the first Chinese city that was designated by the Who as a pilot “Healthy City”    

After breakfast, you will visit Hainan BoAo Golf & Country Club by car. Your destination is about 120 kilometers south of the Haikou city area. And the whole journey will take you about 110 minutes, during which you are welcome to ask whatever you want to know about your golf tour to Haikou. Hainan BoAo Golf & Country Club represents Asia’s only Links golf club that is known to occupy a whole island. There are a total of 18 holes along its 7019-yard-long course, with 9 of them scattered around the island and the other 9 lined through it. Apparently, the designer of the golf course brought the landscape of the island and its surroundings into full use so that golf players are able to enjoy picturesque views of the whole island when swinging their golf clubs. On July 26th, 1997, the former Australian Prime Minister Robert James Lee Hawke as well as the former Japanese Prime Minister Morihiro Hosokawa was among the first group of people to play in this unparalleled golf course.
