Reed Flute Cave, Two Rivers and Four Lake Scenic Area, Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas, Elephant Truck Hill, Samantabhadra Tower

Today will be a full-day Guilin city tour. We will visit the Reed Flute Cave in the morning. It is 6 kilometers away from the center of Guilin. It is the most typical representative of Guilin's karst landform. There are a large number of exquisite and translucent stalagmites, stone pillars, stone mantles, and stone flowers in the cave, which is like a magnificent underground palace. After that, we will visit the Two Rivers and Four Lake Scenic Area. Guilin's Two Rivers and Four Lakes constitute an important part of the beautiful landscape of Guilin. Guilin was once known as the Water City. Because there are many rivers and lakes here. The current Two Rivers and Four Lakes scenic spot is to reflect the scenery of Guilin at that time. At the same time, it also provided a new destination for tourists to travel to Guilin. Today we will visit Shanhu Lake and Ronghu Lake, which are parts of the Two Rivers and Four Lakes Scenic Area. There you will see the Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas. The Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas are Buddhist pagodas in the Tang Dynasty(618-907). In 2001, two pagodas were rebuilt on the basis of the original pagodas. The rebuilt Sun Pagoda is a 49-meter-high copper pagoda, and the Moon Pagoda is a 35-meter-high glazed pagoda. Take the elevator from the bottom of the Sun Pagoda to reach the seventh floor of it. Go up two more floors and you will be on the highest floor --- the ninth floor. From the top of the Sun Pagoda, you can have a panoramic view of the beautiful lakes and mountains of Guilin City. To the south, it is the Shanhu Lake Small Square for cultural activities, and to the west, you can see the Yangqiao Bridge, Glass Bridge, and Beidou Bridge. The two pagodas will be lit with different lights at night. The Sun Pagoda is in golden light, and the Moon Pagoda is in silver light. After lunch, we will visit Elephant Truck Hill. Guilin's mountains are unique in shape. The Elephant Trunk Hill we will visit today looks like an elephant drinking water by the river. The Samantabhadra Tower on the top of the hill was built in the Ming Dynasty(1368-1644) to enshrine the Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. In China, there are only two towers dedicated to the Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. One is on Mount Emei in Sichuan and the other is on Elephant Trunk Hill in Guilin. The Samantabhadra Tower is a solid brick tower with a height of 13.6 meters. It not only perfectly integrates with the Guilin landscape, but also is consistent with the Samantabhadra Bodhisattva's elephant mount written in the Buddhist scriptures. After that, we will drive back to your hotel.

Option: If you want to personally experience the legendary story that happened in Elephant Trunk Hill, we can arrange the Elephant Legend show for you. This show is mainly based on Elephant Trunk Hill, and through the combination of sound and light, various images are projected on Elephant Trunk Hill. Under the colorful lights, Elephant Trunk Hill becomes a dreamy theater. The show is mainly divided into four parts: Ancient Guilin, Mysterious Elephant Village, Phantom Theater, and Holy Elephant Legend. You will feel a different Guilin, and see a different Elephant Trunk Hill through this show. It starts at 20:00 and lasts about 10 minutes. If you want to enjoy the show, please tell us in advance.
