Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Hong Kong
You will arrive in Hong Kong and we will take you to the hotel for a good rest

Once you’ve arrived in Hong Kong, your local guide will wait for you at the airport and then take you to your hotel.

Day 2 Hong Kong
Victoria Peak, Peak Tram, Stanley Market, Repulse Bay

Today, you will have a half-day tour. In the morning, your local guide will take you to Victoria Peak. It is on the top of Mount Victoria. Don’t worry that you may be tired to climb it because we will arrange a Peak Tram for you to get there. The peak tram has a long history in Hong Kong. In 1888, the first peak tram started to run and it was driven by steam. While in 1926, the tram was powered electrically. Now it becomes full-automatic. After taking a peak tram to Victoria Peak, you will see many outside observation platforms. You can stand there to enjoy the Victoria Harbor and whole Hong Kong Island if you like. Besides, there is a Peak Tower in Victoria Peak. It has 5 floors and is higher than other observation platforms. You will have a better view if you stand on top of Peak Tower. If the weather is good enough, you may also see other islands and a part of the South China Sea there.

Then you will visit the Stanley Market. It is in the south of Hong Kong Island. Walking in this market, you will see many stores selling souvenirs, clothes, handicrafts, paintings, and so on. Besides, you will see a kind of special architecture there, which is called Tang Lau. Most Tang Lau were built in the 19th and 20th centuries. They have 3 or 4 floors. The main body of them is made of bricks or concrete. But their roof is made of wood or tiles. Decades of years ago, many people in Hong Kong usually rented a house in Tang Lau to live. One of them would be in charge of collecting rents from other tenants and then giving the money to the owner of Tang Lau. This person is like a manager because it is also his duty to pay water and electricity of Tang Lau. If you go there, you can realize how life is in Tang Lau.

Next, you will go to see Repulse Bay which is in the south of Mount Victoria. Its shape is like a moon. This is a famous attraction in Hong Kong due to its warm water and some interesting buildings. The temperature of seawater there is always between 60°F-80°F whether it is in summer or in winter. So you won’t feel too cold or too hot whenever you come there and you can swim as long as you like! Besides, you may some interesting buildings. One of them is called Zhenhailow, which is a Chinese-style building. It was built by the Hong Life Saving Society. In 1956, some lifeguards set up this organization and aimed to save more drowning people. So they put their building near the bay. You may also see Longevity Bridge. It is very popular because local people believe that they will live longer if they pass through this bridge. Do you believe it? If you are interested in it, you can go to this bridge and have a look. After visiting Repulse Bay, your guide will take you back to your hotel.

Free Time Suggestion:

If you are not tired and want to visit more attractions. The Wong Tai Sin Temple is a good choice for you. It was built in 1945 with an area of more than 18,000 square meters. This temple is the only temple in Hong Kong that can hold a wedding of Taoists. In Chinese tale, Wong Tai Sin is a powerful immortal who was originally called Huang Chuping. He was born in a poor family and had started to take care of sheep since he was 8. However, when he was 15, he encountered an immortal who told him about how to become an immortal. Huang Chuping was so glad and then left his home to learn from the immortal. About 40 years later, he finally became an immortal and could even make a stone become a sheep. Besides, he also cured many people’s diseases. So local people dedicated the temple to him and hoped him to protect them all the time.

Another good choice for you is Ladies’ Street. In the beginning, the stores in this street only sold something that women needed. That’s why it is called Ladies’ Street. As time goes by, people are able to buy more and more kinds of things in this street, such as men’s clothes, watches, toys, souvenirs, electrical equipment, lamps, antiques, and handicrafts. Besides, the goods in this street are cheap and have good quality. Not only women but also men like to go shopping there. You can also buy something if you are interested in them in this place.

Day 3 Hong KongMacau
From Hong Kong to Macau by ferry, A-ma Temple, Ruins of St. Paul’s Church, Casino of the Grand Lisboa Hotel

This morning, you will take a ferry from Hong Kong to Macau. Your local guide will wait for you in Macau and then take you to A-ma Temple. This popular temple has a history of more than 500 years. It was dedicated to Mazu, a goddess of the sea. There is a legend about this goddess. About hundreds of years ago, a businessman took a boat to Macau from Fujian Province. But his ship capsized by the storm. Fortunately, Mazu saved his life. So he built this temple for Mazu. In the 1980s, there was a huge fire in the temple and it was almost damaged. However, the statue of Mazu was not burnt at all. Everyone thought it was a miracle after they saw the statue. From then on, more and more people believe that Mazu really exists. Mazu’s birthday is on the 23rd of the third month of the Chinese lunar calendar. On that day, many people will come to this temple to celebrate her birthday and pray to her.

After visiting the A-ma Temple, you will go to the Ruins of St. Paul’s Church. The St. Paul’s Church was built in 1602. But in 1835, the church was destroyed by fire. So we can only see its ruins and imagine how gorgeous the church was in the past through the ruins. The Ruins of St. Paul’s Church are 23 meters wide and 25.5 meters high. You will see 5 floors on the ruins. On the first floor, you will see three large gates and “MATER DEI” is carved on the lintel of the middle gate. On the second floor, there are four statues of saints, including St. Francis Borgia, St. Ignatius Loyola, St. Francis Xavier, and St. Aloysius Gonzaga. On the third floor, a statue of the Virgin Mary is put in the middle. Angels and seven dragons are around her. On the fourth floor, a bronze statue of Jesus is carved there. Pigeons that represent the Holy Spirits are on the fifth floor, while on the top of the ruins, you will see a cross.

Next, your local guide will take you to the Casino of the Grand Lisboa Hotel. It is a very luxurious casino in Macau. When you enter the hall, you will feel like you are in a movie. The hall is full of gambling tables and each of them is surrounded by many people. If you like gambling, you’d better play for a while and you will have a good time in this place. There are also some delicate golden statues in the casino. For example, a huge golden dragon boat is put in this place because it symbolizes wealth in China. Besides, you may see another interesting golden statue that has some lively golden trees and delicate golden buildings. When you look at the ceiling, you will see many beautiful crystal chandeliers with different shapes. Some are like a knife’s point. Some are like hollowed-out ivory balls.
