Brief Introduction of Baotu Spring

Baotu Spring,Baotu Spring
Baotu Spring

Baotu Spring, as one of the three famous scenic spots in Jinan, is situated in the center of city. It is adjacent to Quancheng Square in the east and Five Dragon Pool Public Park in the north and it is known as " Number One Spring in the World". With a history of more than 2000 years, it is the leader of "72 Famous Springs" in Jinan.

The mouth of Baotu Spring is located in front of Luoyuan hall in Baotu Spring Park. In 1931, the bank around the spring was built with stones. After several years, a rectangular spring pool was completed, which was 30 meters in length, 18 meters in width and 2.2 meters in depth.

It is a park famous for its spring water. The spring water with three outlets gushes out of the underground limestone caves with 70,000 cubic meters a day and the maximum water inflow can even reach 162,000 cubic meters one day. The spring group of Baotu Spring was formed by gathering over 30 other springs. The temperature of spring water is about 18℃ (64.4℉) throughout the year.

The cultural activities in Baotu Spring Park include Baotu Spring Lantern Fair, Chrysanthemum Show and Spring Cultural Festival. All these activities reflect the local customs and cultural characteristics of Jinan.

Scenic spots including Luoyuan Hall, Guanlan Pavilion, Shangzhi Hall, Li Qingzhao Memorial Hall and Li Kuchan Memorial Hall are near the Baotu Spring.
