The park was built in October 1992 and officially opened to the public on June 23, 1997. So far, it has been developed and opened to tourists with an area of more than 80 hectares.
 

The park attracts the general public and tourists with its dignified and simple style. It is a leisure resort with beautiful scenery and pleasant environment.
 

There are 200,000 square meters of grassland in the East and Southeast, where citizens and tourists fly kites, relax and have picnics on holidays and weekends. The south is a coconut wind forest lawn scenic spot of 80,000 square meters with tropical and subtropical customs, which is mainly composed of lawns and palms.
 

About 20, 000 square meters of leisure green space has been built in the west, which is a good place for surrounding citizens to rest, walk and exercise. Opposite Lianhua North Village in the northwest, there are many rare tree species, peach blossom forest with an area of about 60,000 square meters.

Entering the park from the south gate, on the left is an 80, 000-square-meter coconut forest lawn scenic spot with tropical and subtropical customs, mainly composed of lawns and palms, and on the right is a lawn square scenic area of 200,000 square meters dominated by large-area grass and micro-topography. During holidays and weekends, many citizens fly kites in these two scenic spots to relax. Citizens gather here to fly kites, which has become a major cultural landscape in Shenzhen. So, the scenic spot on the right is also called Kite Square.
 

 Peak Park

The main peak of the park has a 4000-square-meter Peak Square, which is currently the tallest outdoor square in Shenzhen. Peak park is the best place for the general public to cherish the memory of Deng Xiaoping, and look over the central district of Shenzhen. The bronze statue of Deng Xiaoping stands in the center of the square. The bronze statue is 6 meters high and weighs 7 tons. It is cast in bronze and the base is 3.68 meters high. The shape of the statue is a dynamic gesture of Comrade Deng Xiaoping striding forward. The bronze statue was created collectively by Bai Lansheng and other four famous sculptors and cast by Shanghai Shipyard. Comrade Jiang Zemin wrote an inscription for the bronze statue and personally unveiled the bronze statue on November 14, 2000.
 

There are more than 10,000 Phoenix trees planted on the south slope of the park. When summer comes, the Phoenix trees bloom and the mountains are red all over. It is also a magnificent natural landscape of Lotus Mountain and Shenzhen City.
 

Lotus Hill Park is located at the north end of the future central district of Shenzhen. Lotus Hill is not very steep and majestic, only 93 meters above sea level. Walking slowly along the winding mountain path, tourists can enjoy climbing without the tiredness of climbing. Standing on the platform on the top of the mountain paved with marble, leaning against the granite railing, overlooking the nearby Futian central area, you will feel like that you were in heaven.

Rain Forest Valley is located in the East Valley of Lotus Hill, where many vines and air roots are planted, which are still in the growing stage and will form a tropical rain forest landscape interlaced with vines. 

 

Big Events Happened in the Lotus Park

On November 17, 2015, the 10th Park Culture Festival and the 17th Azalea (the city flower of Shenzhen) Culture Festival were held in Shenzhen. In this period, Lotus Park showed colorful and attractive azalea to tourists. The festival also provided with a display board that conveyed a hundred events that happened during Shenzhen’s Reform and Opening Up since 1979. In this way, the citizens could enjoy the beauty of the flowers while learning about the history of Shenzhen’s reform and opening up at the same time, which has enhanced the self-consciousness and cultural identity of the citizens, and made the concepts of reform and opening up as well as Shenzhen spirit more deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
 

The Challenge for Love Carnival and the Blue Ribbon Campaign on the International Day of Disabled Persons in 2015 were held at the Kite Square in the Lotus Park on November 29th, 2015. Through a number of interactive activities and carnival performances and so on, lots of disabled persons with other citizens join together and enjoy the games, which enhanced the friendship between them. These activities fully demonstrated the humanistic care for the disabled, and also improved the public’s concern for the disabled.

Take 107, 108, 111, 14, 15, 215, 228, 235, 236, 237, 25, 322, 350, 350, 374, 383, 38, 41, 54, 60, 65, 71, K105, K578, N9 to Lotus Hill Park Station and enter the park through the south gate. 

Take 104, 11, 12, 14, 16, 209, 209, 213, 316, 319, 365, 370, 46, 58, 59, 6 fast line, 6 slow line, 71, 79, N13, N6, shopping line, get off at Peking University Hospital Station and enter the park from the Northwest Gate.

Subway Line 4: Get off at Qinghu station.
