Located between Badaling Great Wall and Juyong Pass of the Great Wall, the highest peak is 1,238 meters above sea level, and there exist 539 species of plants and 158 species of animals. 
 

Moreover, the forest coverage rate has reached 96%, becoming the first ecological public forest area in China. The park has more than 50,000 red foliage trees (aka Cotinus coggygria), and north China’s largest area (more than 466,666 square meters) of natural syringa forest.
 

On February 5, 2021, it was named the fifth batch of national forest and grass science popularization bases by the Chinese Society of Forestry, and the validity period ranges from 2021 to 2024.

It possesses the largest natural Syringa reticulata forest in northern China. Also, the valley has a variety of vegetation, various complete forests, and different seasonal landscapes, making it a nice place to enjoy oneself. Every June, visitors can watch syringa when syringa blooms in the mountains, and the valley is full of the scent of syringa.

 Experiencing Center

Covering an area of 4.5 million square meters, the center is divided into an indoor experiencing hall and an outdoor experiencing route. The indoor experiencing hall occupies an area of 856 square meters, with four exhibition halls, one lecture hall, one lobby, as well as restaurants, offices, emergency rooms, etc.

How to Get to Badaling National Forest Park

 By Bus

Take bus line Shuttle 877 from Deshengmen Station, get off at the terminus, and walk back 400 meters to the entrance of the scenic spot.

Take bus line 919 from Deshengmen Station, get off at Badaling National Forest Park, and the park is right across the road.

  • Note: When the leaves turn red in the park every year, generally from October to early November, there is a special bus line running from Deshengmen to Red Leaf Ridge.
