Brief Introduction of Huaibei Ski Resort

Huaibei Ski Resort, also called Beijing Huaibei International Ski Resort, is one of the earliest ski resorts in Beijing. Sixty-seven kilometers from the center of Beijing, it is located in Jiugukou Natural Scenic Spot, 18 kilometers north of Huairou District and five kilometers north of Yanqi Lake.
 

Huaibei Ski Resort is located in the “Back Garden” --Beijing-Jiugukou Natural Scenic Area of Huairou District. Surrounded by the Great Wall on three sides, the ski resort overlooks the Great Wall built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and stretches along with the “Great Wall at Mutianyu”. It is a ski resort integrating cultural and natural landscapes and has the reputation of “skiing in the arms of the Great Wall”.
 

The ski resort is opened basically from December to mid-March. At other times of the year, you can enjoy various outdoor activities, such as camping and drifting.
 

Huaibei Ski Resort enjoys multiple ski trails, including one advanced trail, seven intermediate trails, and three beginner trails. It is equipped with three ski lifts, one dragging lift, and five magic carpets. With the restaurants providing Chinese and western foods, you can also taste plentiful and delicious dishes.
 

The resort is also equipped with a VIP rest service area, book bar, coffee shop, and other facilities, giving VIP customers better service.

Available Activities in Non-Ski Seasons

• Auto-camping

Auto-camping was opened on July 6, 2010, which integrates camping, outdoor leisure, accommodation, and dining. With an area of 20,000 square meters, it can hold 2,000 tents at the same time and is built with 6 hiking lines, stretching over 28 kilometers.
 

• Mountain CS

Mountain CS is also provided in the resort. It has the most advanced simulated military laser battle system and provides a real battle environment and professional military instructors.

 

Where to Stay

Twelve cottages with different layouts are situated in the forest, giving customers a refreshing experience. You can ski from the cottages’ front door and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the natural forest. You can also choose the rural homestay inns near the resort or the hotel nearby.

 

Warm Tips

1. Ensure you intake enough calories before skiing.

2. You should have enough warm-up exercise before skiing.

3. You should wear professional skiing glasses in case of snow blindness. Visitors with eyesight problems should not wear lens or glasses with metal frames.

4. You would better wear sun cream in case of injury caused by UV radiation.

5. Professional skiing gloves should be worn before skiing in case of scratches or cold injury.

6. Choose certain trails according to your skiing ability. Beginners would better hire a coach and move gradually from beginner trails to advanced trails.

7. Check snowboards and ski poles before skiing.

 

How to Reach Huaibei Ski Resort

By Bus

Take bus H58, H11, H30, or H32 to Huaibei Ski Resort at Jiugukou Station.

Take the shuttle bus to Huaibei Ski Resort at Shaoyaoju Metro Station. The bus starts at 7:55 around from Shaoyaoju Station and goes back at 16:30 around from Parking Lot C inside the resort. The round-trip fare is 40 yuan per person (no single ticket), and you should book the tickets at least one day earlier.
