As a matter of fact, during his official life, he went through a difficult time. Not only did he obtain much admiration and respect from students, but also what he did caught the attention of the emperor. Furthermore, during a civil service examination held in Chengdu which only admitted ten candidates, his students did a great job: one won the first place and eight of his students were selected.
